Spa Day… Apparently, We Needed One

Four freshly pampered girls. Some of us were happier about it than others!

Every once in a while, Mommy announces two words that immediately make some of us suspicious:

“Spa Day!”

Now, before anyone gets too excited, let me clarify something. There were NO BATHS involved today. Thank goodness! But apparently Mommy still had an entire list of ways to torture — I mean pamper us.

Teeth brushed. 🪥

Breath freshened.

Nails clipped.

Paw pad hair trimmed.

Fur brushed.

And then some good-smelling spray so we could walk around smelling all fancy.

We each have very different opinions about this whole operation.

Gracie is the best spa customer. Of course she is. Gracie LOVES attention, so as far as she’s concerned, Spa Day is just an extended appointment devoted entirely to admiring and pampering her.

Annie doesn’t mind it either, for the most part. She seems to think the whole thing is perfectly reasonable.

Abbie and I don’t mind getting brushed too much. We can tolerate a little fluffing and fussing.

But then Mommy gets out the nail clippers. It’s a two-person job, so Mommy gets reinforcements from Daddy.

Absolutely not.

Abbie and I are in complete agreement on this one. We HATE getting our nails clipped and having our paw pad hair trimmed. Apparently, Mommy thinks having nice, neat nails and paw pads is important.

We think that our nails and paws were perfectly fine the way they were.

I don’t know who decided dogs needed fresh breath, paw work, and good- smelling fur, but I would like to speak to the management.

There is, however, one part of Spa Day that receives unanimous approval from all four of us:

When it’s finally over, Mommy gives each of us a BIG BONE for being the goodest girls! 🦴

Suddenly, all is forgiven.

Well… until the next Spa Day!

XO
