About
The Author
The Adventures With Cadie Kids Books series is written by Natalie McCurry, a retired police officer whose stories are inspired by her rescue dog, Cadie. Rescued from a shelter in Texas after a difficult early life, Cadie now shares her adventures through a growing series of children’s books.
Natalie enjoys photography, volunteer work, spending time with family and friends, and, of course, caring for her rescue animals.
In 2026, Natalie was voted Favorite Local Author in the SASS Choice Awards, presented by SASS Magazine.
The Illustrator
Chris Schwink is the illustrator of the Adventures With Cadie Kids Books series. His hand-drawn illustrations bring Cadie’s adventures to life with a warm, personal touch that complements each story.
Chris began drawing as a hobby and finds it both relaxing and a creative outlet. He lives in Maryland with his wife and daughter and works as a police detective. He looks forward to continuing his collaboration with Natalie on future Adventures With Cadie books.
The Inspiration
Cadie, a rescue German Shepherd originally from Texas, now lives in Maryland with her Mommy, Daddy, and sister doggies. She loves car rides, going on adventures, creating her one-of-a-kind paw art, enjoying treats, and visiting family and friends.
As the inspiration and star of the Adventures With Cadie Kids Books series, Cadie’s personality and adventurous spirit inspire the stories created for young readers. She looks forward to many more adventures — and, of course, plenty of treats along the way!
