My Mommy’s Special Night! 🏆
Hi, everyone!!
Well, something pretty special happened two nights ago, and I just have to tell you about it!
My mommy got all dressed up and went to the 2026 SASS Choice Awards Gala, where she celebrated winnning the award for Favorite Local Author!
Now, I have to admit, I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t go along. After all, I’m her co-author! You would think that would earn me a seat at the table and all the treats they served!
But apparently, since the celebration was held at a restaurant/distillery, dogs weren’t allowed. Can you believe that? Not even award-winning co-authors! But my Mommy is the best and she remembered to bring me some treats from the evening! 💖
Mommy said it was a nice evening out, although the room was very crowded and noisy, with tables packed pretty close together. She thought of me all night! Come to think of it, I probably wouldn’t have been very comfortable there anyway. Maybe staying home wasn’t such a bad idea after all!
Even though I couldn’t be there, I was certainly there in spirit! In fact, our Adventures with Cadie Kids Books logo was proudly displayed as a table sponsor!
But there is something I really want everyone to know.
I am SO proud of my mommy!! 💖
When she rescued me, neither one of us could have imagined that our adventures together would someday turn into a very special children’s book series, much less that she would be receiving an award for writing them!
And while Mommy’s name is on that beautiful certificate, she says this award belongs to both of us. I think that’s awesome, don’t you?
Of course, we couldn’t celebrate without mentioning our amazing illustrator, Chris Schwink! He’s the talented person who takes our adventures and brings them to life through his awesome, hand-drawn illustrations. Mommy and I are so grateful to have him as part of our little team.
I’m one very lucky rescue dog, and that special night was another reminder of just how far a little love, a second chance, and a whole lot of adventures can take us.
Don’t worry, everyone. I made sure my mommy came home and told me all about the night!
Mommy, if you’re reading this, I hope you know just how proud I am of you. You may have been the one standing there holding the winner’s sign, but I was cheering you on from home!
